The one-line version

Transcriptor Light collects no data. None. Everything happens on your iPhone.

What happens on your device (and stays there)

• Audio recordings are captured, stored and transcribed locally on your iPhone. They are never uploaded anywhere.
• Transcripts and notes are stored locally on your iPhone. You can edit or delete them at any time; deleting a note also deletes its audio.
• AI processing (rewriting, summaries, translations) runs on a small AI model executed locally. Your text is never sent to any server.
• Settings (language, chosen models, custom actions) are stored locally.

Network usage

The app connects to the internet for exactly one purpose: downloading the transcription and AI model files (from Hugging Face's public CDN) the first time they are needed. No personal data, audio or text is transmitted — it is a plain file download. Once models are downloaded, the app is fully functional offline.

What we do NOT do

• No accounts, no sign-up.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers.
• No third-party SDKs that phone home.
• No cloud storage or sync of your content.

Purchases

The optional lifetime unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment information. Purchase state is stored on your device and with your Apple account (which is how "Restore purchase" works).

Microphone & speech recognition permissions

The microphone permission is used solely to record your voice notes, on your request. The optional speech-recognition permission enables Apple's on-device dictation engine as an alternative to the built-in Whisper engine. Apple's engine may require a one-time model download by iOS; recognition is performed on-device.

Your rights

Since all your data lives on your device, you exercise your rights directly: delete a note, delete models, or uninstall the app — nothing remains anywhere else.
